Gigi and PaPa took the boys this weekend for a sleepover - BOTH Friday and Saturday nights!! Once the boys got home from school on Friday and we finished lunch, we headed over to drop them off and start our weekend just the two of us. Steve and I finally put to use some gift cards we received earlier in the year when we were blindsided by Andrew's diagnosis. It was a much-needed break and we took full advantage :)
We started out at J Buck's in Clayton watching the Cards vs. Cubs game. We then made our way to check in at the Ritz and enjoyed some amazing massages at Wellbridge. Everything was within walking distance and it was nice just to take our time. Cafe Napoli was our next stop for an unbelievable dinner. We ended up back at the Ritz for some live music and fantastic people watching while enjoying a few cocktails :)
We checked out first thing Saturday morning and headed to Golden Eagle, IL for a Vehige Wedding. What a gorgeous day for an outdoor wedding!! It was nice to catch up with the Vehige side of the family - it's been over three years since the last wedding/big family gathering. We headed home that evening to a QUIET house and an uninterrupted night's sleep.
We couldn't wait to get back to the boys on Sunday morning (funny how that happens), but it was nice to get a quick break away from reality. THANKS Gigi and PaPa for entertaining the boys ALL weekend. They had a blast as usual :)
