Underwear ONLY!!
No more Pull Ups for Andrew!! Andrew has been doing GREAT with potty training and no longer needs Pull Ups for overnight. We are still having a couple accidents during the day every now and then, but once Andrew fills up his sticker chart, Chuck E Cheese, here we come!! We are so proud of the progress Andrew is making - what a milestone!!

Sleepover at Gigi's and PaPa's House
The boys headed over to Gigi's and PaPa's this afternoon to stay overnight. Steve and I had a wonderful evening to ourselves and were able to catch up on some things around the house that we kept putting off. A huge THANKS to Gigi and PaPa for taking the boys and giving us a 24-hour break!!

Eye Surgery
This afternoon we went back for a follow-up with Nathan's ophthalmologist. We have been patching Nathan's right eye for a couple of months now with the hope that it would help decrease his eyes from crossing. His doctor liked how well Nathan was using both of his eyes, but the crossing is still there. Nathan quickly corrects himself, but his doctor feels at this time eye surgery is the best option to eliminate the crossing. Hopefully the surgery will correct Nathan's eyes from crossing and help his depth perception and spatial vision.
This will be an outpatient surgery and we are told the greatest risk is going under the anesthesia. Unfortunately, Nathan's had to be sedated numerous times in the past, so fortunately, we know that he's handled the anesthesia okay thus far. We are still anxious to get this surgery scheduled and behind us. It's never a fun time having a little one put under and isn't something you get used to. We pray that everything goes just fine and it corrects the issue!!

Magic House
Andrew and Daddy headed to the Magic House tonight for the very first time. Andrew completed all of his summer reading through the library and this was the prize - a night at the Magic House!! Andrew had a blast and wants to go back as soon as possible. Steve couldn't get over Andrew going from one thing to another and he just couldn't get enough.

Opening up the letters of the alphabet to see what was in store.
Andrew could have watched this thing forever - one of those displays where balls continuously move through different obstacles.

Nathan's 1st Steps!!
We have been working with Nathan's walker for a few weeks now. We started out very slowly with Nathan barely being able to stand up, let alone hold onto the walker for support. Well, today our big boy decided to walk with his walker with minimal assistance!! I'll have to get video to post, but couldn't let this milestone go unannounced!!

Buddy Builders
Today Nathan and I headed to the Delta Gamma Center for our first Buddy Builders session - Nathan receives therapy through Delta Gamma once a month (in-home) for his visual impairment. Buddy Builders is a playgroup for the children (ages 1-3) who receive services and gives the kiddos a chance to interact with their peers and have fun in a social setting. It also gives the Moms a chance to talk and confide in one another. It's a two hour session where I spend the first hour with Nathan and then leave him for the second hour to have a group discussion with the other Moms.
I was a bit nervous to attend this and can't tell you how grateful I am to have gone. Nathan was just perfect and had so much fun and I was able to see Nathan interact in a way I had never seen before. We spend so much time each and every day working on things that Nathan can't do that I often forget everything he CAN do. We are so wrapped up in our own little world and it was nice to know (unfortunately) that we are not alone and there are so many children that have unique situations and needs.
Buddy Builders is offered once a week during the school year and once a month during the summer. We are excited to start going more frequently and getting to know all of the other families!!
