This afternoon we went back for a follow-up with Nathan's ophthalmologist. We have been patching Nathan's right eye for a couple of months now with the hope that it would help decrease his eyes from crossing. His doctor liked how well Nathan was using both of his eyes, but the crossing is still there. Nathan quickly corrects himself, but his doctor feels at this time eye surgery is the best option to eliminate the crossing. Hopefully the surgery will correct Nathan's eyes from crossing and help his depth perception and spatial vision.
This will be an outpatient surgery and we are told the greatest risk is going under the anesthesia. Unfortunately, Nathan's had to be sedated numerous times in the past, so fortunately, we know that he's handled the anesthesia okay thus far. We are still anxious to get this surgery scheduled and behind us. It's never a fun time having a little one put under and isn't something you get used to. We pray that everything goes just fine and it corrects the issue!!
