Holiday Weekend
We had a blast this Memorial Day Weekend enjoying lots of events with our family. Saturday, we cheered on our goddaughter, Olivia at her t-ball game and she got the biggest hit of all the players!! We all then headed to Des Peres Park to play and then got back together for a BBQ in the evening. The boys had a wonderful time playing with their cousins basically all day except for naps and it was great to just relax and let the kids run. Sunday we headed to the Zoo in the morning and then over to Gigi and Papa's for another BBQ dinner :) And then Monday we headed to Pops and Grandma's for a pool party and yet another BBQ. We laughed that we were able to eat BBQ all weekend without any duplicates!!

Fun with Denise Fleming
Today, Andrew started his first summer camp at his preschool, Trinity Lutheran. It was based on "Fun with Denise Fleming Books." Each day was based on a different book - Alphabet Under Construction, Barnyard Banter, In the Tall, Tall Grass and In the Small, Small Pond. The teachers were so creative with incorporating the theme into everything - even the kids' food!!
Andrew had a bit of a rough time with drop-off since his preschool teacher wasn't there, but quickly joined the other kids for the fun. It went from 9am-2pm, which is the longest Andrew has been at school before and the first time I had to send him with a lunch :) Our little boy is quickly growing up!!

Eye Patching
Nathan had another check-up with his ophthalmologist today. Ever since Nathan was born, we have been seeing his ophthalmologist every six months for continuous exams to make sure his eyes are okay. Nathan has always seemed to cross his eyes and then correct them quickly, but it seems as though Nathan's left eye is a bit more weaker than his right. So, we were told today to start patching Nathan's right eye for about 2 hours per day to make his left eye work a bit harder. It's another thing to add on to what seems like a never-ending list for Nathan, but he tolerates it well and hopefully it will do the trick and in the end prevent surgery. The eyes are an amazing organ and one that we want as strong as possible for Nathan especially due to his hearing loss.

Here's our little "Patch."

Weekend in Chicago
Steve and I headed North late this afternoon to visit his brother, Tom and wife, Erin for the weekend. We had a wonderful time and were very excited to finally get to see their new home. Tom and Erin moved to Chicago earlier this year and to say they are extremely missed would be an understatement. Thanks guys for a awesome weekend - you are the best hosts!!

Unfortunately we hit traffic right before getting to Chicago, so I took some pics to keep busy :)

And a HUGE thank you to Grandma & Pops and Gigi & PaPa for each taking the boys for a night!! They had a wonderful time and didn't seem to miss us all that much :)

Trinity's Closing Program
Today was Andrew's last day of preschool. It's hard to believe his very first year at school is already said and done. Andrew loved going to school every day and can't wait for next year. The kiddos put on a program that was just precious. This year's theme was What a Wonderful World and there weren't too many dry-eyed parents in the crowd. Andrew was a bit hesitant in front of the crowd, but we were able to catch a couple hand-movements on video - ha!!

Enjoying his snicker doodle cookie after his big performance :)

A Mother's Love
Steve and I are so thankful for our Moms and cannot express how much they mean to us and our boys. Moms are AMAZING in so many ways - here's to all of the Moms out there!!
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's Love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
We will always be grateful.

BYE BYE Prescription Medications!!
Today marks the first day EVER that Nathan is free from prescription medicine!! We have been weaning him from his acid reflux medicine the last couple of weeks and Nathan has been doing great. So, yesterday was the last of his dosages - YEA!! I don't know if we ever thought we would see this day. It seems like just yesterday that Steve and I were sitting at our kitchen table drawing all of Nathan's medications for the week. I can honestly tell you we don't miss one thing about it. Hopefully, Nathan will continue to remain medication-free!!
