Funs Pics

Andrew absolutely LOVES playing outside and decided to bring some of his toys inside from the deck. He's still trying to understand the concept of a wheelbarrow...

Almost has the front wheel down...

Celebrating Pops' Birthday

After Nathan's Baptism we all went back to Pops' & Grandma's house for lunch and cake for Nathan and then stayed for the afternoon to swim in the pool. We later had dinner and more cake to celebrate Pops' birthday. It was a fun-filled day celebrating with the family.

Nathan's Baptismal Ceremony

Nathan was first baptized while in the NICU, but we celebrated with a formal ceremony this morning with our family. It was a very sentimental ceremony and brought back many memories of Nathan's first days fighting to stay alive. We are so blessed to have Nathan and can't believe just how far he's already come. Pops was able to perform the ceremony and bless Nathan. He's one special little boy...

Nathan's Hearing Aids!!

Nathan was fitted with his hearing aids today!! Nathan cooperated very well and we are off to a great start. Steve and I are still getting used to handling them and getting them in Nathan's ears correctly. We know with time it will become second nature, but right now we are still on the learning curve. We are in a "trial period" with these particular hearing aids for a few months until we know these are the best fit for Nathan. As he gets older, he'll be able to tell us with more cues, but for now we rely on his reactions to different sounds. He's only pulled them out twice so far...we're hoping it wasn't on purpose and he forgets they are even there. He very aware to noise and we are loving all of his facial expressions!!

6 Month Check-Up

Nathan had his six month check-up with the pediatrician this morning and all is well. Nathan now weighs 15 lbs, 8.5 oz and is 241/2 inches long. That puts him almost in the 5th percentile for height and in the 20th percentile for weight. At his adjusted age of 15 weeks, he fits in the 80th percentile!! All in all, we have a big boy on our hands!! We aren't used to these large numbers, as Andrew didn't hit 15 lbs until he was well over nine months old - ha!!

Nathan seems to be growing and developing as expected and survived another round of immunizations. He proved to have some strong lungs letting us all hear it during his three shots. Luckily, he won't have any shots at his next well visit, but come September/October timeframe, he'll start his Synagis vaccine injections each month to help protect Nathan from RSV.

Six Months Old!!

Six months ago today, Nathan surprised us all with his quick and unexpected arrival!! We can't believe he is six months already. Time surely has flown by and we can't wait for Nathan to continue to grow and get stronger!!

Trying to figure out what the big deal is with all of the pictures.

Incredible News!!

Nathan underwent another MRI this morning to follow-up on his cyst and fourth ventricle. We had an appointment with his neurosurgeon following his scan to discuss the results...and much to our surprise, the cyst has gotten SMALLER!! We couldn't believe it and are just THRILLED with this news!! We still need to keep a close eye on Nathan, but not undergo as frequent of scans. The doctor wants to minimize Nathan's exposure to radiation and continue to let Nathan grow and excel. Steve and I immediately were drilling the doctor with questions, not knowing how to handle the great news. We hope and pray Nathan's progress continues down this path and we won't have to intervene any time soon!! All of our prayers seem to be working, please keep them going!!
